Quick answer (TL;DR)
- Choose EcoFlow if you want the fastest charging, a sub-10ms UPS switchover and a bigger home ecosystem (Smart Home Panel 2, Smart Generator, extra batteries). The DELTA 3 Max is $899 at time of writing.
- Choose Jackery if you want the lightest unit for the capacity, the lowest price per watt-hour in the 1kWh and 3kWh sizes, and simple plug-and-play backup. The Explorer 2000 v2 is also $899 at time of writing.
- At 2kWh it’s a near tie on price. EcoFlow gives you more output and faster charging; Jackery gives you about 5 lb less weight and a published cycle rating.
- For whole-home 240V, Jackery’s Explorer 5000 Plus has more capacity and output. EcoFlow’s DELTA Pro 3 charges faster and costs less up front.
EcoFlow and Jackery are the two biggest names in portable power stations, and both now build their main home-backup models around long-life LFP batteries. If you’ve already read our solar generator for home guide, you’ve seen how their panel bundles compare tier by tier. This article sets the panels aside and compares the brands themselves: how fast they charge, how they handle a power cut, how heavy they are, how far they expand, and what the warranty fine print says.
We compare each brand’s core home-backup lineup on official US specs and prices, so you can pick the brand whose strengths match your home.

Price per Wh is the official-store price divided by rated capacity, rounded. EcoFlow lists the DELTA 3 Max at 20.3 kg; the pound figure is our conversion.
Charging Speed: EcoFlow Wins
If outages in your area come in waves, recharge speed decides whether you’re ready for the next one.
| Model | AC recharge (brand figure) | Max solar input |
|---|---|---|
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus | 0–100% in 56 minutes (1,500W) | 1,000W (2 × 500W) |
| Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 | 1 hour (Emergency Super Charge); 1.58 hours standard | 400W |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max | 0–80% in 68 minutes (1,800W) | 500W |
| Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 | About 1.7 hours (Emergency Super Charge) | 400W |
| Jackery HomePower 3000 | About 1.7 hours (marketing); 2.2 hours (spec table) | 1,000W |
| EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 | 0–80% in 50 minutes | 2,600W |
| Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus | 3.5 hours on 120V | 4,000W |
EcoFlow’s published AC times are quicker at every size (though some are quoted to 80% rather than 100%), and in the 1kWh class it accepts more than twice Jackery’s solar input. Jackery’s 5000 Plus is the exception on solar, with a 4,000W ceiling that beats the DELTA Pro 3’s 2,600W.
EcoFlow also lists charging from its own Smart Generator (dual fuel) on the DELTA 3 Plus, and an 800W alternator charger option. That makes it easier to build a mixed fuel-and-battery setup.
UPS and Sensitive Electronics: EcoFlow Wins
When the grid drops, a power station with UPS (auto-switch) takes over. The faster it switches, the more likely your router, PC or NAS stays on.
- EcoFlow: under 10ms on the DELTA 3 Plus, DELTA 3 Max and DELTA Pro 3. EcoFlow also supports NAS connection on the DELTA 3 Plus through its PowerManager app and NUT server software.
- Jackery: under 20ms on the Explorer 1000 v2 and 2000 v2, and about 20ms on the HomePower 3000. The Explorer 5000 Plus adds a 0ms online UPS mode, the best switchover in either lineup.
Jackery’s product pages also say its power stations aren’t recommended for medical devices, life-support equipment or data servers. If you rely on a CPAP or oxygen concentrator, check with your device maker and doctor before relying on any battery backup.
Weight and Portability: Jackery Wins
If your power station lives in a closet and gets carried to the kitchen when the lights go out, weight matters.
| Size class | EcoFlow (Wh per lb) | Jackery (Wh per lb) |
|---|---|---|
| ~1kWh | DELTA 3 Plus: 27.6 lb (37 Wh/lb) | Explorer 1000 v2: 23.8 lb (45 Wh/lb) |
| ~2kWh | DELTA 3 Max: ~44.8 lb (46 Wh/lb) | Explorer 2000 v2: 39.5 lb (52 Wh/lb) |
| 3–4kWh | DELTA Pro 3: 113.5 lb (36 Wh/lb) | HomePower 3000: 59.5 lb (52 Wh/lb) |
Wh per lb is our arithmetic from published capacity and weight.
Jackery packs more energy into every pound at each size. The HomePower 3000 stands out: 3kWh in under 60 lb, about half the weight of the DELTA Pro 3. It has no wheels, though, and no 240V output.
Expansion and Whole-Home Ecosystem: EcoFlow Leads, Jackery Has the Biggest Ceiling
EcoFlow builds expansion into more of its lineup. The DELTA 3 Plus, a 1kWh unit, expands to 5kWh, something none of Jackery’s 1kWh models offer. The DELTA Pro 3 expands to 12kWh on one unit (48kWh as a full system) and connects to EcoFlow’s Smart Home Panel 2 for circuit-level backup. EcoFlow’s product page didn’t list expansion for the DELTA 3 Max.
Jackery keeps its Explorer 1000 v2, Explorer 2000 v2 and HomePower 3000 non-expandable (its FAQs confirm this for the 2000 v2 and HomePower 3000). If you want to grow, you step up to a different model: the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 expands to 12kWh, and the Explorer 5000 Plus reaches 30kWh per unit, or 60kWh with two units, the highest ceiling of either brand. Its Smart Transfer Switch is extra, and Jackery’s FAQ puts typical installation at $1,500–$2,000.
Bottom line: if you might expand later, EcoFlow gives you that option even on a small unit. If you know you need a very large system, Jackery’s 5000 Plus goes further.
Warranty Fine Print: A Draw, With Different Conditions
Both brands offer up to five years on these models, but they get there differently:
- EcoFlow: 3 years standard plus 2 more when you register the unit in the EcoFlow app (DELTA 3 Max and DELTA Pro 3 pages). The DELTA 3 Plus page lists a 5-year warranty.
- Jackery: “3-Year Warranty + 2 Extra Years Free — Exclusively at jackery.com,” per its product pages. The FAQ says the warranty only covers purchases from Jackery’s website, Jackery-branded third-party platforms or authorized sellers.
So with EcoFlow, remember to register in the app. With Jackery, watch where you buy.
Smart Features: EcoFlow Does More
- EcoFlow: app control with Time-of-Use scheduling and storm alerts (Storm Guard on the DELTA 3 Max tops up the battery before severe weather), X-Boost for running higher-wattage heating appliances, and NAS support on the DELTA 3 Plus.
- Jackery: app monitoring of battery level and remaining time on the Explorer 2000 v2, and Priority Routing on the HomePower 2000 Plus v2, which drops non-essential loads at a battery level you set. Jackery says the Explorer 2000 v2 keeps about 95% of its charge after 12 months in storage, handy for a unit that sits waiting for the next outage.

For example, the DELTA 3 Plus charges 0–100% in 56 minutes, compared with 1 hour for the Explorer 1000 v2 in Emergency Super Charge mode. Jackery’s Explorer 5000 Plus has the highest solar input (4,000W).
Can I expand an EcoFlow or Jackery power station?
EcoFlow’s DELTA 3 Plus expands to 5kWh and the DELTA Pro 3 to 12kWh per unit. Jackery’s Explorer 1000 v2, 2000 v2 and HomePower 3000 don’t expand, but the HomePower 2000 Plus v2 (to 12kWh) and Explorer 5000 Plus (to 30kWh per unit) do.
Which brand is better for running a computer or NAS during an outage?
EcoFlow’s sub-10ms switchover and NAS support (via its PowerManager app) on the DELTA 3 Plus make it the stronger fit. Jackery’s Explorer 5000 Plus offers 0ms online UPS, but Jackery says its units aren’t recommended for data servers.
How do EcoFlow and Jackery warranties differ?
EcoFlow gives 3 years plus 2 more when you register in its app. Jackery gives 3 + 2 years when you buy from Jackery.com, Jackery-branded platforms or authorized sellers.
